I was trulty heartbroken at Congresswoman Herseth-Sandlin decision to vote against health reform. Sam, in your reference to IHS and what the Congresswoman could have done, is outstanding. And yes, 90% of Lakotas are eDmocrat and I can assure MANY of them are also disappointed in her decision. I have withdrawn my support for Congresswoman Herseth-Sandlin and should her future opponent realize the necessity of health reform, I will campaign for that person. I really do feel sad about her decision and now mine. - Ida M. Fast Wolf

The House bill will not pass a conference committee as written. The bill states it will saves or reduce waste of Medicar/Medicad thus paying for the new health program. When has the government reduced waste, as you so aptly pointed out concerning the Farm Program.
The Dems demoize the insurance industry yet force 20 million Americans to buy health insurance or pay fines or go to jail.
And a SD lawmaker votes NO. I applaud SHS.

A masterful job of explaining Stephanie's positions to those of us in the base too dumb to understand!! I have contacted Stephanie on a few occasions, and no matter what I said or asked, I got the same automated response. When I called her office after hearing of her opposition to the House Health Care Bill and when I asked for my message to be sent directly to her, and the message was, "I will support anyone who runs against you, Democrat or Republican', I got a much longer automated response! Basically suggesting I was too dumb to understand, but reading clearly between the lines was "I want to get re-elected!" - Dr. Dan Moran

What they said, Sam -- well put. I especially enjoy and agree with your dissection of Mrs. Duhamel's insult to our intelligence and your flagging the upside-down diversity/victim argument. Now let's find that primary candidate. - Cory Allen Heidelberger

I can understand and tolerate Herseth-Sandlin taking a middle road. It has to be a weird tightrope to be a Democratic representative from a Republican state. But going over and empowering the Republican party in Congress, after it was tossed out of power over the last few years with an intensity rarely seen in the history of our country -- that is unacceptable. I will never ever vote for a Republican, for any reason or circumstance. But we do have Democratic primaries... - Jack Walters

Sam, This is a masterpiece! You have an uncanny ability to cut right to the chase but you have outdone yourself this time! I withdrew my support from Rep. Herseth-Sandlin personally by phone on 11/7. So did my Mom a newly converted Democrat! Thanks for the great work! - Marvin Buehner MD
